Last week Puck News’s Tara Palmieri reported on the latest big money Sinema fundraiser, this time held by former Trump mega-donor, Blackstone C.E.O. Steve Schwarzman, at his home in Palm Beach.
In 2020 Schwarzman donated $3 million to America First Action, a super PAC backing Trump’s candidacy. Since then, he’s had a change of heart, but given his recent donation to a DeSantis-backed charity and public appearances with the current Florida governor, it’s pretty evident who he will back for president in 2024.
Given Schwarzman’s track record, DeSantis probably has a big check coming. Schwarzman is one of the GOP’s biggest donors, giving over $35 million to his preferred candidates in the 2022 cycle.
