NEW POLL: SINEMA UNDERWATER AND TRAILS THREE POSSIBLE PRIMARY OPPONENTS BY 20+ POINTS

Ruben Gallego, Greg Stanton, or Kathy Hoffman Would Easily Beat Sinema In A Primary
PHOENIX — Today, A new Arizona Public Opinion Pulse (AZPOP) conducted by OH Predictive Insights showed dismal numbers for Senator Kyrsten Sinema. The poll found that Sinema’s favorability is underwater among Arizona voters (45% unfavorable – 43% favorable). Most notably, however, the poll found that Sinema could not win a Democratic primary if held today. When given options of who they would prefer between “Sinema, a Republican, and a Democrat other than Sinema,” a whopping 72% of voters chose “a Democrat other than Sinema,” compared to just 26% who said they’d prefer Sinema.

The results of potential primary match-ups also yielded worrisome results for the first-term senator. Sinema trails the three primary challengers tested by 20 or more points:Ruben Gallego v. Sinema: 47-24Greg Stanton v. Sinema: 47-25Kathy Hoffman v. Sinema: 44-24This echoes earlier findings from a Data for Progress poll conducted last month.

The new poll comes as Sinema has spent the better half of the past six months obstructing President Biden’s agenda and slashing widely popular provisions at the behest of her super-wealthy donors. Sinema has consistently ignored constituents, the press, and even her own colleagues and President Biden; she has obstructed Biden’s agenda and cut widely popular provisions. All the while, Sinema has been raking in money from Wall Street, the crypto industry, and G.O.P. millionaires and billionaires.

The Primary Sinema Project released the following statement in response:

“Sen. Sinema continues to make clear that she’s on the side of the super-wealthy and special interest groups and not working class Arizonans — and voters are fed up.

“By derailing President Biden’s popular agenda, she’s not only jeopardizing her own political future, but she’s causing voters across the country to lose faith in Democrats’ ability to deliver on their promises. If she continues on this collision course, her obstruction will have dire consequences for her fellow Arizona Senator, the President, and the party as a whole.”
