Harlan Crow, Republican mega donor, maxed out to Sinema’s campaign in 2021 while she was obstructing the Senate reconciliation bill.
Shocking reporting today revealed that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is taking lavish vacations on one billionaire donor’s dime. Unsurprisingly, the billionaire, Harlan Crow, has ties to Kyrsten Sinema, having maxed out to Sinema in 2021 while she was obstructing key legislative priorities of the Biden Administration and Senate Democrats and delaying passage of the reconciliation bill.
In an eyebrow-raising twist, Crow actually gave Sinema more than the legal limit, resulting in her having to refund $2,900 in November of 2021. Crow is also reportedly a donor to the secretive dark money group No Labels, which has been raising money to get on the ballot in all 50 states, and which recently qualified for ballot access in Arizona. It is rumored that Sinema will run on the No Labels ticket.
“It’s no wonder that the billionaire mega donor buying off a right wing Supreme Court Justice also supports a politician like Kyrsten Sinema,” said Sacha Haworth, spokesperson for the Replace Sinema Project. “Sinema has made no secret of her willingness to do the bidding of corporate interests, most notably by defending sweetheart tax deals for Wall Street, and sadly it’s the Arizonans she ignores who pay the price.”
Sinema notably has a history of putting herself, donors, and lobbyists first and Arizonans last: a 37-page handbook for her Senate staff leaked last year detailed the amount of time she allotts for constituent meetings (3 minutes) versus that for lobbyists (20 minutes), her love of using the Senate personal masseuse every week, and her unwillingness to work past 6:30 pm. The handbook also prompted an ethics complaint filed by 13 advocacy groups for her alleged abuse of staff, including requiring them to do her grocery shopping, make sure she is fed at all times, and fix her internet.
